Holiday Gains

Nov-January explained=

November 10th meeting/weigh in= I told myself the first step was weighing in and attending a meeting. Weight was 245lbs. I had already went grocery shopping for the next week and told myself I would buy groceries for my diet after next weeks meeting.

November 17th, meeting/weigh in= Start day, oddly enough my weight stayed exactly the same as the week before: 245lbs.. Attended the meeting and went grocery shopping after.

November 24th meeting/weigh in= I had lost 3.4lbs!!!!!!! I really tried to watch my points and I tracked every meal. Confidence was restored!! I went grocery shopping again and planned a healthy week.

--4 days later----Thanksgiving-2x-----I didn't track-----I had a carb hangover the next day.

December 1st, meeting/weigh in= I gained almost 1/2 a lb. back :(    It could have been worse.

So I told myself I wasn't ready to go through the holidays on my first month out. I wimped out. I told myself AFTER THE HOLIDAYS I would come back strong.

December 8th-January=I didn't go to a meeting or weigh in at all in December. Bad idea!!   I was out of rehab and went out on a binder of fried food and holiday yumminess.

But something good did happen. My friend Spring decided she want to join and go to the meeting with me. yay!!! We made a plan to go on January 8th. The first Sunday of January.

January 8th meeting= ice storm; didn't make it- so we made a plan to start January 12th.

January 12th meeting/weigh in= Spring came with me. I weighed in at 247.2!!!! I gained 5.6lbs throughout the holidays!!!! I was could not believe it. I had expected some but jeeze...If Spring hadn't of gone with me that day I might have not been able to pick myself back up. She helped me get motivated for the week.

January 19th meeting/weigh in= I lost 1.4lbs. Ok, Im back on track. If  I loose at least .8lbs  at my next weigh in I will be out of the red. I don't like working backwards. Grrrr..... stupid Santa. bah humbug

Note to self= Go to my meetings during the holidays!!!!!!

Weight Story

I was never really heavy as a little kid.
Until 5th- 6th  grade. Puberty made me a plump kid.
By Jr. High I grew out of it. But since then... I always felt fat and compared myself to the others girls at school.
Here, I am in at 16. I remember thinking I was the largest girl on the team. Crazy huh?
I started gaining some weight my Senior Year, 1997
In 2000 I had Jeremiah, I gained a lot more weight. (big baby #1)
After his birth, I had hit 200lbs and hovered around that weight for about 4 years.
In 2004, I started working a overnight job at Walmart; stocking shelves and lost 40 pounds.
When I met my Husband Matt in 2005, I weighed 165.

And then.......
2 years later, I was at my heaviest at 260lbs. Why?=In 2007, I started cosmetology school. I was pretty much sitting in class most of the day and eating out a lot!
In 2008, Matt and I got married. I was in a size 26 wedding dress.

In 2010, I got pregnant with Elijah. (big baby #2)
I didn't gain much weight during this  pregnancy  and when I left the hospital with him I actually weighed less then when I had gotten pregnant. I weighed 235lbs
Then, the stay at home phase of my life began. I soon started to feel unproductive and; bored, even though I was busy all the time. Eli was born in August and by December I felt trapped in the house. Im not sure if I had a case of post partum or just stir crazy, but I was lonely and sad. It seemed like the only time I got out of the house then was to go to the grocery store. I was walking in Target, and saw the new Pioneer Woman's Cookbook. I flipped through it and immediately saw Chicken Fried Steak. It reminded me of my Grandma's cooking and I knew I needed it buy it and cook it. Boy did I cook it. I cooked my way through the whole cookbook. It made me feel creative and alive. Did I mention, that The Pioneer Woman Cookbook is full of comfort food? It sure did comfort me...all the way to 245lbs. She likes butter & whole milk.
But it really didn't bother, because I wasn't leaving the house. lol. Comfort food in my comfort zone. That was until I began having anxiety attacks. When I had the first one. I thought I was having a heart attack. It scared me. I went to the Dr. they checked my heart, blood, ect. and I was diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder. Oh, really cuz, I thought I was dying. I was prescribed some medicine and was told to try and relax more. Right. The medicine actually helped a lot!!
The whole thing scared me and I started to really begin thinking about how my weight was affecting my health. I know, it took me a while. So I joined Weight Watchers in March 2013. @250 lbs
It was a good step for me, but I wasn't ready. I see that now. I soon went back to making our favorite comfort foods and filling the house with processed crap. Oh.. until.. I thought I was dying again.
September 2013- I began having gallbladder attacks. It was the worst pain I had ever gone through. The ER told me to watch what I eat and prescribed acid reflux pills. They didn't see gallstones.  Went to a GI dr. She had me go through a body scan and found that my gallbladder wasn't even functioning. I had surgery a week later.  The surgeon told me my gallbladder was ugly. lol After the surgery I had to really watch what I ate because my digestion was all out of wack. So....goodbye fatty foods.

Well, I rejoined Weight Watchers, November 2013. Starting weight is 245lbs.  I have a plan, support and drive to lose the weight. Stay tuned for updates and to follow my progress. There WILL be progress!!!!!

101 in 1001

I have been completely inspired by my favorite blogger Emmie from Authentically Emmie to start this blog & work towards putting myself first. You have to follow her, her story is amazing. She uses a "101 list" to help her focus on the things she really wanted to accomplish in the next 3 years. Here is her list.
I loved that idea so much that I wanted to come up with my own. With a little twist. I wanted my list to be just about me. I wanted to be completely selfish and finally put onto paper (screen) the things I secretly desired but felt selfish for wanting. This was really hard I it took me a week (a completely obsessed week) to finish.

At first I just did a brain dump- wrote down every goal I had. I looked at it and realized how many of the things I wanted was for someone else. My goals for my home & my kids. Heck, the first thing on my first draft was= 1. lose weight/be less self conscious/ have better libido for my husband. (Sorry if T.M.I) Hello? Why is this so hard to put myself first.

I also felt bad for wanting to spend money on myself. Part of me does wants to be that frugal housewife that pinches every penny. We do live on 1 fixed income so we don't have a lot to play with. But I wouldn't be true to my goal if I didn't list everything I wanted--for myself. Even if it doesn't happen in the 1001 days, it is on the list. So who knows? I love this article from The Woman's Forum site. It reminded me that "I'm worth the investment." Lets just hope my husband feels the same. lol.

If you would like to make a list, here is a great post on where to start. I also used the Day Zero site to get ideas.

I have a made a tab on my blog to keep track of this lists progress and to make it easier for my readers to follow.

So without further adew...(spell check that later) ......
